I just got my HVX200 today, and was wondering what the best settings for a film look on the camera were. Also, any post-production tips would be a great help as well. Thank you.

Thank you Emanual. Also, any post production settings or anything on how to make it look like film? Also, can anybody give me an actualy reason why there is a difference in the first place? It's wierd, i can watch all kinds of stuff in 24p and it still just doesn't do it. I assume it's a lense but i really dunno. Thanks.

Depth of Field (DOF). There's too much of it on video, especially with a 1/3" CCD. A famous philosopher once said that "Video sees what the eye sees, but Film sees what the mind sees."

You need one of the following to make an HVX200 look more like film:

I assume all of these that say they support the 100 also support the 200? Thanks for the links by the way. I really appreciate it. I will definately look into these.

You may need some small adjustments (shims, spacers, adaptor rings etc), but they should fit similarly. I would double-check with the adaptor's FAQ. Also, preview some footage of each model, and see if it was tested with an HVX200. Lastly, some may fit in your price range, better than others.

Do programs line CineLook 2 work at all? What exactly do they do?

I believe it de-interlaces the footage, so it looks like 24p. But if you shoot in 24p already, you don't need to de-interlace to get the film cadence. It may also add artificial "graininess" like film, I'm not sure. But that effect may be overdone and unrealistic. Many programs de-interlace and add different textures.
