HVX200 dealer

Just wanted to get some feedback on a reliable HVX200 dealer. I have not pre-ordered with anyone yet, so I know I may be waiting for awhile. The Specialized Communications dealer/equipment repair company out of Maryland has an offer that looks pretty attractive. Has anyone had a positive or negative experience with them with sales?

I don't have any experience buying product from them yet. If you're shopping for dealers, I can tell you that I've had superb experiences with EVS, B&H, Abel Cine Tech and Birns & Sawyer.

I just got off the phone with Jasmin, from Specialized,
She basically told me she cold not get one to me untill late January.
She said Panasonic would not let her give a specific time frame.

Well if she can't give me a time frame, then I can't give her my $500 deposit.

If she could get me one on the first shipment, I would gladly give her my $500.

I have been very happy with Jerry Delgato at www.Ear.net and like both his service and his prices. Sometimes large dealers are good sometimes, small dealers are better.

Just my 1 cents worth.

Green, I have a feeling NO dealer is going to be able to give you an exact date right now.

There's no doubt this is probably one of Panasonic's largest camera preorder list ever. I'm sure thier initial dealer orders have been huge.

I've never bought from Specialized, but i've heard good thigs about them here on this forum.

Rush from evsonline is well known here and there's been nothing but praise.
I'm on Rush's preorder list.

I am blown away...I thought I could see how the camera is working from peoples feedback
and stroll into B&H and get it in January...NOT

everyplace is backordered...B&H can't give me a time frame if I place a pre order with them...Rush at EVS is probably backed up until March...

I kinda still wanna see how the camera is performing when it hits the shelves...But if I wait till January to order it I wonb't get it until April...(probably Feb/March)

What are my options....WHAT AM I GONNA DO?

(Get one on ebay with 2X 4G P2 cards for $15,000 ? - Sheesh)


 
I don't think anyone can get a guarentee right now as they don't know how many cameras are coming in their first shipment. You can secure a position on the waiting list and cross your fingers the shipment is large. :)

A bunch of us started on Rush's waiting list waaaay back in Spring and still probably won't get in on the first shipment.

I'll try my local camera shop, maybe I can wrangle a deal with the guy
(B&H is close by too, but will have backorders beyond beyond)

Too Bad I can't walk in and get one from the floor,
(maybe if I had a gun...)
 
You could always try to order it in from Canada which may not have the wait times as excessive as down south. However, you'd be paying a little more:

HVX MSRP $7,100.00 CAD = $6,171.74 USD

Ahh, all of you have obviously preordered,
You have the air of "well I have done my best, now I just have to wait..."
Whereas I am like one of those insane people you see footage of who waits outside of Walmart for the Thanksgiving sales to begin and then tackles other customers who push past him as the doors open...


To echo another persons post: Panasonic may create enough of a frenzy (intentionally or not)
that it is awhile before the smoke clears and we look at the merchanise objectively

(I am Not knockiing Panny...but with all this waiting, and the slow trickle of info, I catch myself expecting everything inder the sun)
