HVX200 clips wanted

Hi everyone,

I am watching this forum for several months now, and like the most of you I am impressed by the possibilities the hvx200 has to offer. Definitly saving up for one. I just bought myself a new editing set, so my budget is quite tight right now .

I am not sure if this is the right place to ask, but I give it a try. I want to train my collor correction by using some 720p footage (quicktime jpg compressed) from the hvx. Futhermore I have a whole lot of things I would like to try out with my newly purchased After Effects CS3 ( ) !

The clips I am looking for could be anything. Even your garbage will do fine (in focus obviously)

If you have something that you would like to see more edited, you could always mail me ofcourse.

Thanks anyway, I am off to check some more clips on this forum!

Cheers

I just worked on my first small (real small) project with the HVX. I saved for two years and let me tell you, best money I have ever spent. Anyways, I shot in 720 24p so I will see if I can get you a small clip to play with. I might have to put it up on my site for you to download because it will probably be quite large.

Let me know if there is anything else I can do for ya.

Ill do it as soon as I can, just keep checking back!

Ok, so I jsut rendered out 2 clips just the way you asked. One issue, one is over 200 MB and the other is over 700 MB. Are you sure that that compression is needed? If so I will upload the smaller of the two. I would'nt even try to download it unless you have high speed internet.

Hi Matt!

Thanks for your effort! The compression is just the one I am used to work with, cause it's full sized and has got a good quality/size ratio. I do have pretty fast internet here, but don't get in to much fuzz trying to upload those large files. I think I can directly import MXF files to, if that is easyer? Maybe the best way of transfering the files is ftp?

Anyway I know that the HVX200 will be a great purchase like it is to you, judging by what I've seen so far. The thing is here in Holland (where I come from) the camera still is at his highest price, as far as I know.

Alright, what I will do is I will upload the 270 MB file. As soon as it is done, I will post back here. I am not sure how long it will take, it might be a couple of hours but I will start it and let you know when it is done.

Footage Up

Ok, the file is up on my website...

http://www.appstate.edu/~mb72378

you will need to right-click-save-as to your desktop. This is a really large file and it is completely unedited or color corrected. Remember that this is NTSC not PAL. I'm not sure where you said you live so just keep that in mind. Please let me know if this helps and I would love to see what you do with this.

Oh, this is a shot from a short that I am doing called detour, which is about a young man who has to resort to taking a detour to get home and he ends up breaking down in the middle of nowhere and he's not the only one out there.

Anyways, hope this helps. Let me know how it goes.

Ok so I collor corrected it a bit,
pulling down the pink collor and gave it some extra contrast. Also used collorama to chrush the blacks some more. I have the file renderd out, but it is also 250 mb.. Now that I read your intension for the movie I think I should give it even a more sinister darker look.. extra grain and stuff.

I could upload a low-res dvx on stage6 or I need an ftp adress for uploading the larger file. Let me know

cheers

Hi I just uploaded a dvx file on megaupload.. It automaticly made a 4:3 file of it, but you get the general idea when you see it.

Here is the link (23mb)

Like I said, I corrected a first version in 32bpc.. then later I made an other correction for a more creepyer look that sorts you film better.
