What's HVX200 gamma setting to get a result like DVX100a CINELIKE (not V or D) ???
In my DVX100a footages, cinelike gamma was a nice setting for lattitude vs noise.
Also, what is the difference between SD NORM and HD NORM gammas ?
Well, SD NORM is the equivalent to the standard DVX100 gamma curve. So, that's your best bet at matching shots between the two cameras.
As far as the gamma for HD NORM goes, I'm guessing that it's simply the factory default setting for the HVX200; it's the most neutral look for the camera.
There used to be a forum on DVXUser for HVX scene settings, but it is no longer there, I think because of lack of posts. I believe the thread I am remembering was posted there. Maybe Jared can let you know where those posts might be now or give you a link.
The closest to the DVX100a Cine like setting would be to go to Cine-Like D (f6), then go to the scene file menu and mess with color temperature. If you can get both cameras side by side, it would be a plus. Cine-like V (f5) mixes well with the cine-like V of the DVX (however, once again, some small adjustments in color temperature should be made- normally not more (or less) than two numbers.)
