HVX200 Camera Jib

i am planning on building my own jib arm to use for a bunch of shoots this summer. Has anyone else made their own. It needs to be a relatively large jib, 18-24' reach... just curious as to what people have done for the tilt and pan functions???
or if you have any plans still lying around and what to email them to me that would be awesome. -Chase

I've used mostly manufactured jibs but I've seen some homemade ones that are pretty cool.. BUT, just remember if you are doing a big jib like that. and that is a big jib, to have a ton of weight to counter that. You'll need a ton for that kind of reach to counterbalance. just a FYI

You mean something like this?

Justyn is right... With the camera, jib, and counter weights you're looking at 100 lbs of gear.. Add in a few rollers from passing boat here and there and you've got a lot going on.

The key is to strap down whatever you're using... We had about 5 tie down straps going every which way..

If you're curious.. we're using the 12' Kessler Crane with Bogen 316 head and 3191 legs.
