HVX200 and M2 - Small Test Scene

I have no sound on my computer..... But it looks good, and with no sound the acting is GREAT!

I get audio. Looks good. No idea what the hell's going on but I get the feeling its a scene in something bigger so no worries.

looks really good, is the dude a bounty hunter (i wasnt paying that much attention to the dialouge?)

your jumping the line a few times which can be distracting. There's also some vignetting in a couple shots. Else it looks fine...

Yea, I caught the line jumping after the 2nd time watching. I can see why it was done though, performance first....continuity second lol. Actually, for some of it, you can get away with.....just a little bit of polishing on the dialogue and it'll be great!

For the picture itself, framing looks good and the overblown whites do not really bother me. My only gripe is, it looks a little soft. Focus on groundglass a little off?

Somehow this scene reminds me of the TV series "Without A Trace". Maybe it was your actress lol

I dont mind crossing the line, in fact, sometimes it opens you up to more creative ways to move the story along..... I thought this was a nice collection of shots for a car scene, (maybe too many).... but each one was tasteful

I didnt like the blown highlights tho. and for the most part the acting was ok, but some of it was.... you know..... wooden

otherwise, not bad bro

not to argue too indepth, but EXACTLY. I'm getting tired of the same 'commercial' aesthetic we're all getting used to.

^^ crossing the line, at least as i've interpreted it from the footy (Which looks really good in IMO), means you cross the 180 degree line that you situate cameras behind or why am I talking at all --> http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/180_degree_rule

oh i see... its my set ups....

I get it. Yeah I guess I don't subscribe to that... And I could give you 10 examples of legitimate people who don't as well.

In this case I think the shots were composed well enough that the line crossing is not distracting at all. In fact framing it through the rear windows of the car make it work really nicely. We know what we are looking at and from where. Good instincts. Great job.

Breaking the rule here doesn't really bother me cause the car provides some framing that helps you hold the overall image. If it were a free standing space than it may be distracting, but here I don't think it was a mjor issue (at least not for me).

Jumping the line here is not distracting at all. Only reason I caught it is because I know what it is and that at film school they insist you don't do it, but it works here.

Just curious, and not trying to be the creepy guy here, did either you or your actress realize her breast is very close to being exposed in the close-up of the paper?

For some reason my playback kept pausing on that exact frame.......:Drogar-Love(DBG):

Hahaha,
who of you went back and searched for the TTs?
Seriously I liked the look and framing, the line jumping doesn´t bother, only the dialogue doesn´t sell for me - and I don´t think it is the sometimes stiff acting, but the lines themselves...
Anyhow ggod job!

Great JOB! That line is for old timers who like to read books! As long as it doesn't JAR the audience it can only add to the story, and keeps the audiences mind going!

The only thing that I found a bit odd, was something you probably have no control over.. But it looks like they are so far away from each other when they are in the same shot because one is SOOO out of focus.. Try shooting at a higher stop maybe to see if you can at least get the focus so you can see facial features, otherwise you might as well shoot it clean.. MY 2 cents...

nice work.

i kinda like the look, however your main actor is playing way too cool. He mumbles and is difficult to understand. The woman was too monotonous. She didnt play enough with levels and was boring to listen to.
but sound was good, framing was great, and the look was good too. Wouldnt have hurt to maybe bounce some light into their face.
