hvx200 and 5d mkii footage integration?

Can anybody report on how hvx footage looks alongside 5dmkii video footage, and what adjustments you've had to make to integrate them seamlessly within a single project? How easy is it to shoot with both cameras and match up the footage?

So nobody’s dealing with this issue?

Let me ask a specific question, then.

I have 5D footage in 1920x1080 30fps, and HVX footage in 1280x720 24fps, say. I want to combine them in a single movie. My eventual goal is to make both a high quality standard def NTSC DVD, and a hi-def DVD. What is the best route to take in terms of image quality, uprez the HVX footage and convert fps to 30, or conform everything from the 5D (codec included) to the HVX standard and then convert to what is needed for the DVDs?

I would shoot 30fps using the HVX so that your frame rate is matched with the Canon. Edit on a 720p timeline (you'll need to downrez the Canon footage) and then create a 720p master. You can then downrez to standard def using your NLE to produce the final DVD. The exact steps you take would depend on what software you are using.

Also, there is a comparison of cameras which includes the HVX and the MK11 on Vimeo posted by Zacuto. Do a search under user "Zacuto" to see the same scene shot by multiple cameras. It's a good starting point.

My overall advice to you is to shoot test footage and play around with it before you start working on any serious project. Although people can give you advice, the final product is going to be subjective.

Thanks, but let's say I was stuck with no choice but 30fps for the 5D and 24 for the HVX. What would be best in that case? Two versions, one converting to 24 for the hi def DVD, 30 for the standard DVD?
