I have a six month old 200. I use a 32gb card and use the camera largely to shoot interval recording of the sky. Its been a fantastic camera thus far.
Friday, 6/6/08, I was unable to offload the P2 card to my external firewire HDD. So I just ejected the card and copied the contents over via a PCMCIA reader I have installed in my PC. Card emptied, problem solved, I can shoot again.
Next day, I go to review some shots just recorded via toggling the Camera MCR setting it into review mode... No go. Pop out the battery, restart... Nothing I cannot get the camera to review the files.
Then I try going into the menu button to change 720/30 to 720/30N and that whole cluster of buttons atop the camera is non-responsive. Nothing works. I can shoot with the last used setting but I cannot get in to tweak anything. The scene files (f1 to f6) work fine but the menu option is gone.
So I try tape mode... Turn off the camera switch to tape, bring it back up hit the record button and the message "External 1394 disconnect" appears. WTF?!
I fear a major failure has occurred.
Anyone else with a similar experience?
