HVX200 720P60 & 24fps potential screw up

I'm not sure whether to post this here or in the FCP forum, but here goes:

I have a student that shot footage with the HVX200 in the 720p60 format, film camera mode (180º shutter), but put the frame rate in the camera profile menu at 24fps. There is no desire for over/under cranking here, just real time playback.

I always shoot in 720pn24 @ 24 or 720pn30 @ 30, unless I want to overcrank. I don't have any experience with her scenario, so I could use some help understanding what issues this is going to present her in post.

A little more info: after I import using the L&T window and then play on either a 720p60 or 720p24 timeline, it plays perfect in real time. I assume FCP (6.0.6) is inserting a pulldown to play correctly. I imported one clip twice: once normal and once using the advanced pulldown removal in the L&T window. Both clips occupy the same amount of space on the timeline and play in real time. When I check the files in the desktop, the clip imported with the pull-down removal is a much smaller file, so frames were removed.

My questions:

1) Is this a disaster? If so, what are the problems she will encounter in post and can they be worked around? Or... am I over reacting and there is no reason for concern?

2) Should she remove the advanced pulldown upon import available in the Log and Transfer window?

3) I'm recommending that she edit the piece using the DVCPRO HD codec. Should she use a 720p60 @ 60fps or 720p60 @ 23.978fps timeline?

4) Any other advice?

Thanks for your help.

No disaster, 720p format is perfectly legitimate, what you have there is 24fps embedded in a 60p data stream. If you L&T'd it with the pulldown removal, the resulting file will be identical to what you'd get if you'd shot in 720/24pN.

I would recommend removing the pulldown and editing on a 24p timeline.
