Camera works great.

Apart from some minor dings (worst ding is pictured), the camera is missing the plastic cover that goes over LCD Hinge.

This has no adverse affects really, as the inside of the hinge is fairly well sealed and keeps dust out. Also the plastic cover can be purchased from Panasonic or Specialized Communications.
Take note of the picture featuring the hinge. At the end of the green arrow is a torn ribbon cable. This cable does not affect principle use of the camera, and it being torn is not a degenerative condition - in other words it's not going to cause a short or anything as it comes from the LCD, not the camera, and is therefore not carrying any power. This ribbon cable, fortunately, was not in charge of very much. It only governed 2 things: 1) flipping the LCD for self shoot and 2) letting the EVF (eyepiece) know whether the LCD was closed or not. If it was closed the EVF would automatically come on; if it was open, the EVF would automatically turn off. So working with the camera is only affected in 2 ways by the above. Regarding #1, if you want point the camera at yourself and flip the LCD to face you, your image will be upside down on the screen (not on the recording) but on the LCD screen. Regarding #2 rather than have the EVF come on and off automatically with the opening and closing of the LCD, you can either adjust camera settings to have it stay on, or you can manually turn it on and off. So that's the only quirks. The optics are PERFECT, and except for flipping the LCD for self shoot, every other aspect of the camera works like new. The only recording parts of the camera that have been used are solid state (P2 Cards) which don't wear down. The tape heads (which do wear down) have never been used.

Batteries work great.
My stock 5400 battery went home in some DP's camerabag. The two included batteries are the famous DVXuser.com 5600 cells. They work great but both have been dropped and the cases repaired with glue. This causes the outer edge to be a bit larger, more rigid, and as a result they fit more snuggly in the battery housing - but they do fit. NOTE: An issue with the HVX 200's in general (not just mine) is a weak battery latch that has been known to break off. So always make sure the latch is FULLY depressed when attaching or removing battery. Make extra sure it's fully depressed since these batteries fit nice and snug.

Batteries and P2 cards are autographed.
Kidding. They do have my name written on them and a number to differentiate them from one another and other folks' gear. The labelling has been done with a sharpie and it's already fading. Might come off with some elbow grease, or maybe I will be famous one day and they will be worth something :).

THE REST OF THE STUFF,
Barry Greens book and CD that ship with the camera are included still shrink wrapped (I had an extra. That one is dog-eared and book marked half to death)
But also you get his amazing DVD's, sold seperately, HVX Boot Camp v1 (The Camera) AND HVX Boot Camp v2 (Post).

Also included are DVXuser mod Noah Kadner's Final Cut Pro post workflow DVD for this camera and Noah's intro to FCP's COLOR DVD.

The Cinebag camera bag has some signs of usage. A stray thread here and there. A few scuff marks. Early versions of this bag shipped with weak metal rings that attached the shoulder strap which would break. This is a later version of the bag with super strong metal rings. But this is a great, versatile, and strong bag, coveted amongst DV pros.

NON MONETARY VALUE
The HVX has special value for me as I won it on DVXuser in one of the fests. It's hard for me to part with but I hope it goes to someone that will put it to good use and post footage here on User so I can see it.

Oh man. Guy that was offering $2900 said he did some research and that the 8b cards weren't enough for his needs so he's going with a firestore. Poor bastard.

Sent him a response saying, don't buy my cam, that's cool, but please please do not buy a firestore. Told him to either get an HMC150 new if he needs record time or to buy my cam and use the extra money for 32 gig cards.

Poor bastard. Anyway. $2900 offer withdrawn. Camera is on market again.

$2500 going once ...
$2500 going twice ...

Hey all.

Thanks for the PM's.

Someone on a popular auction site where the camera is listed bid it up to $2325 just now. It had been sitting around $1100 until now. Given that the auction doesn't end until Sunday and as you all know that's when the price really jumps for online auctions - at the end, I'm gonna wait it out for the actual auction to end.

I'll consider offers of $2800 since the bidder on on the auction site has no feedback and just joined and I'm a little nervous about that.

For offers of $3K or greater, I will end the auction and sell now.

Cool. If I can get paypalled or the check by Saturday night then she's all yours, otherwise that's past the time I can end my auction and I'll be obligated to sell to the highest bidder there.
