HVX Zoom and Focus Assist?

Wondering if anyone might be able to answer these questions. The Sony HDV cam has a nifty feature to assist in focusing, at the press of a button it magnifies the image for critical focus without altering the original video going to the tape. Does the new HVX have any features like that?
The mechanical zoom ring on the HVX, is it the same or similar to the DVX100? The DVX zoom ring is okay for snap focus, which some clients ask for, I don't know why, but isn't great for super smooth push ins or pull outs. The zoom ring on the Sony and Canon is very smooth, but I know that's because it uses a servo. I guess I'm asking if the HVX zoom ring is similar to a Fujinon lens.

Thanks!

From what I have read, there is a pixel-for-pixel focus assist feature on the HVX's EVF.

As for the mechanical damping of the zoom ring, this is a subjective question and would best be answered by a first hand (pun intended) experience.

The "focus assist" on the HVX is the same kind of feature as that on the Sony, except that on the HVX it can be used during recording as well (the Sony can't).

The zoom ring is advertised as a true manual cam-driven zoom; people who attend the IBC show in Amsterdam in a few weeks will be able to tell us how it feels. Even so, that will be a pre-production model, there's still time for them to fine-tune or make changes before the actual production model ships in November/December. So nobody can authoritatively answer your question yet.
