HVX work flow question using TransMXF to convert to Apple ProRes 422

I spend more time in the audio world but now I find myself back again shooting with the HVX200, and reviewing Barry's HVX BootCamp........and Noah's call box DVD, but still have a question or two i'm hoping to get answered here. I use FCP7 and have an old Powerbook G4 with the PCIm slot to transfer P2 footage to my external drive. I was either not aware of apps like Aunsoft's TransMXF or they were'nt available when i first bought this camera? With the ability to grab MXF files from the "Content" folder and convert to Apple ProRes 422 (.mov) with TransMXF for ingesting to FCP7 so easily...............i wondered this:

1- Is there any reason after converting to 422 ProRes to continue storing the content folder (voice, clip, video, audio ect) and "last clip" on my drives?
2- Would these 422 ProRes files (if i were to trash the Content Folder) work without any hitch if say I were to feed them to an editor using AviD?

I started trashing a few content folders after doing the conversion but thought i'd stop and double check before i got too far, being that i have tons of old footage i do not want to loose.

Thanks in advance!

1. if you have checked that the transcode has happened properly, i.e. no corrupted files or whatnot, you will be fine deleting the content folder+lastclip.txt.

2. Yes you can trash the original folders, there's no connection between the transcoded and the original footage.
