HVX vs. HD100 in post workflow

I'm looking at ditching my FX1 (there was nothing else available when I bought it) for a 24p cam, either the HVX or the JVC. A friend who owns a local post house has complained often about the post workflow with the JVC and the HDV codec in general. He has loaded via a Firewire-to-HD-SDI bridge (I'm not sure which one). His biggest complaints have regarded picture degradation in the color correction process.

Has anyone done an apples-to-apples post test on footage from these two cameras, editing in 10-bit 4:2:2 HD and taking the footage through its paces in color correction and compositing?

I know the JVC has fared well in camera tests, but I have to believe the DVCProHD codec will hold up better through a rigorous post process.

I don't think DVCPRO HD would up through too many gens.
I noticed each pass adds a lot of noise. I would work in an uncompressed workflow for special effects and bring that finished file back into your DVCPRO HD workflow. But yes HDV is nothing but headaches.
