HVX vs DVX low light

Had the chance to shoot both in a night club recently.... I found the DVX to handle the low light better overall. We were asked to not use on camera lights so we had both cameras at 24 shutter and the DVX looked great. The HVX needed to be bumped to 6 gain and still seemed dull.

I will view the footage later this week to see the true outcome. Based on location shoot impressions I was not thrilled with the HVX in a lowlight situation. But the camera is friggin sweet so who cares :)

both shot 24p miniDV cine like D

Thanks for the info although it really is consistent with what we are all seeing anyway. The HVX is much slower than the DVX and if you foresee using it in this type of environment a lot, then you might want to look into a better low light camera.
