HVX vs. DVX Eyepiece Viewfinder

Hello there,

I was using a friends DVX on the weekend and got to wondering whether the HVX eyepiece viewfinder is much better than that on the DVX. I found the DVX's to be quite low in resolution compared to other camera's I have used. Did they increase the resolution on the HVX, or keep with the same setup?

Thanks in advance. . .

No news on this.

I have spent hours looking and so far haven't even been able to find a pixel count for the eyepiece. DVX's is said to be 180,000, not spec for the HVX anywhere to be found?

*Have since found spec in the HVX Guide Book PDF. Pixel Count on the HVX eyepiece is 235,000 pixels. Doesn't specify actual res.

According to the Operators Manual, the viewfinder is 0.44" and has 235,000 pixels (slightly more than the 210,000 of the LCD).

Thanks Thoff :)

Not long to wait now, getting my HVX next week. Just thinking of asking the supplier if he will let me pay the extra and get a 16gb card instead of the included 8gb. Fingers crossed! :)

"Included 8GB"? Panasonic doesn't include cards anymore, I assume you are talking about a package from the dealer?

16GB cards seem to be as rare as hen's teeth, with 8GB not far behind. If you can get any cards, you are ahead of the game.

Here in Oz we have had a severe shortage of everything, cards, even camera's. Retailers have been waiting for camera's they had on orders they placed back when the free 8gb card offer was still in effect. Panasonic Australia agreed to honour the free 8gb card on those earlier orders. So I guess I was lucky.

Apparently Panasonic Australia has despatched the new camera's and cards to suppliers this week. According to my supplier, he will have all my gear ready to pick up next week.
