HVX vs DVX damn

I shot some footage for a special event with the HVX and DVX. I did this because it would like the same in SD. I had the same settings and shooting 24p.
Damn the HVX looks way better, what a beautifull pictures. Now I see that the HVX is much better in dv set up also than the DVX. The colors and the sharpness is just better. In some way I don't like that because I've been in love with the DVX for years and they are family, but there is differance.

Look at the bright side -- at least Panasonic isn't just sitting on their laurels and not improving their cameras.

At least they have a clear path for you to migrate up on, letting you benefit from the familiarity and experience you have with the DVX camera and giving you access to the new features and improvements of the HVX.

This makes a lot of sense when you think about it. increased quality glass (because it has to be used with HD too, remember that :) ). Along with slightly higher res CCD and just alot of other improvements any company would make over a 3 year span.

I haven't used my HVX much in SD so i don't know, but i just figured it'd be slightly higher quality.

Did you shoot both mini-DV or where you using DVCPro50 on the HVX200?

Could you perhaps upload a couple of still comparisons? I'm actually quite curious how the two differn in SD when shooting to mini-DV.

Yes I will upload some stills but not now because I have some hard disc issues at the moment. But tomorrow or day after I will. I did dv on the HVX otherwise my comparison was not honest.

DVX100a. I have to say that I did HVX 16:9 AND THE DVX 'squeeze' to get it imported anamorphic

That's going to made a significant difference right there won't it?
