HVX users- GH1 as second cam? Cut side by side?

Considering doing a 2-cam shoot. HVX200 (bare) and the GH1, both at 1080p. Anyone that has both- have you cut them side by side? Do they match up? Any thoughts on this?

The thing that most concerns me is DOF. If we're shooting two CU's, one with shallow DOF, the other with deep DOF, cutting between them might not be so nice.

Lighting for both?? Dynamic range differences.

I have no HVX experience, so any help is appreciated.
 
What's your intended distribution medium? If it's for SD DVD, they'll compare better. But if it's for HD distribution, they're going to look quite different.
 
Well, it's a short, so- festivals, SD dvd, and perhaps some web.

Do you think the DOF difference would be a big problem?
 
The DOF will be an issue, but the sharpness and the texture of the image will also be an issue. The GH1 will be significantly sharper, and the HVX footage has a gritty texture to it that the GH1 doesn't. If you're looking for seamless intercutting, I don't think these two are going to get the job done, you'd be much better off with two GH1s, or an HVX with another HVX/HPX170/HMC150.
