HVX used for Theatrical Projection in Camille @ Bard 7/7-16

The HVX is also making an impact in theatrical multi-media. I used my camera for a presentation at The Public in NYC. Now my friend, video designer Peter Negrini, is using the HVX to create jaw dropping projections for a production of Alexandre Dumas' Camille at Bard College in upstate NY.

It's a good way to see how the HVX image does when blown up huge on a SD projector (it'll be a while before academia ponies up for HD projection, sadly). Despite the limitations, it's amazing how much of the resolution holds up.

Obviously, when blowing up to an enormous screen, and cropping to fit a non traditional aspect box, its quite an advantage to be working down from a 1080 master instead of blowing up from dv25.

Camera geeks can bring a date with them to enjoy a sexy, romantic period piece while they drool over the projections (and the rockettes in the cast). You'll also see me on stage, pretending to huff ether.

if any one from the list wants to check it out, PM me and I'll try to work out a reduced ticket price.
