Can an HVX export it's P2 card directly to an external powered USB drive? I mean without having to have the drive connected to a computer?
 
The HVX can directly control an external firewire drive, not a USB drive.

USB On-The-Go is a special host mode protocol, where the drive actually takes control of the HVX. So, both options are available to you.
 
Thanks for the quick response. So offloading in the field is possible with these devices. Fill P2/Offload to Firewire/USB/ Fill P2/ Offload etc...
Any problems with "the glitch" when capturing with FCP on Tiger, that you know of? ; or... can I capture directly to the Firewire enclosure and P2 simultaneously?
