HVX to FCP ---> audio tracks mono?

Hello, and thank you for potentially wanting to help me.

I shot a film in DVCPRO25 (with two audio tracks) on my P2 cards and imported it via firewire to FCP 5.1

The result was the two audio tracks coming in as two mono tracks.

If I wanted stereo, is it an export adjustment from the HVX or an import adjustment from FCP?

Or is it a conversion issue of MFX files to Quicktime?

Not to worry, a single audio track should always be mono in FCP. The tracks from your HVX represent your four channels from the camera, each a mono channel. They become stereo when you pan them l and r respectively during your mixing process.
You did nothing wrong,

Cool.

I guess I am just use to left/right being divided when I imported regular DV (even when I had a added on mike on my Sony VX-2000).

I knew "stereo pair" joins monos but I didn't realize at first the HVX monos themselves were combined L/R.

:dankk2:
