I have to shoot a 30 sec spot for a local news station and the want the finl output on Beta.

I will be using the HVX and wanted to get advice on how to handle my setting and what to use. 24 or 30 or 60, should I shoot HD and down convert or go with DvcPro 50 etc.

Thanks for any insight to make this go smoothly.

I deliver 99% of my spots to beta sp i have found shooting dvcpro50 60i works best, I can output of my non linear analog component and capture right into a PVW2800 beta deck. but I think you could also capture back to the p2 card and then run it analog component out of the HVX200 depending on your editing software

I have found that the analog component out of the HVX200 has been the source of most complaints about noise. The analog component out is just a simple digital to analog conversion and is not the quality of a NLE's analog component out. If your NLE does not have component out try to burn a HQ DVD (2 pass high-bitrate) and use the component out of a good DVD player to Beta SP component in. Make sure that your DVD player has the video out setup set to 7.5. The digital to analog circuits in a good DVD player are quite good. They will also have some fine tuning available (sharpness, NR, edge detail, chroma).
