We thought of this at breakfast, shot it in the afternoon and edited it at night and added sound, all yesterday. We turned it into a spec for ING Direct. Stock HVX, CC'd in final cut. 720p. My friend just got the HVX so its the first thing we shot with it. We are going to do more soon, hopefully a short in April.

any questions feel free to ask. Thanks!

It looks bleached here on a PC. Could be the gamma difference, but seems to me to be more than that.

hahah NICE, CLEAR AS HECK! How did you EXPORT that???? I WANT SPECS!!
1080? 720?

Love the last few!! hahahha

bherr, we bleached it in the cc a bit but it should still have some decent contrast and not be to bad...might be your monitor. On my monitor it looks like the desired effect we wanted. Will take a look though.

Justin,

Shot on 720pn24. I believe we exported using the h.264 codec around medium quality. It is a good codec that seems to do a better job if it is encoded on a mac than a pc...wierd. I have both and when I export on a pc I can never seem to get the quality and low size that I get on the mac.

very nice - I didnt even have the sound on and it made me laugh... Nice picture too, makes me want to go shoot something outside - any extra lighting in that shot? looks natural, but it looks well lit too...

The lighting is all natural, except we stopped at an art store right before we shot and purchased a big piece of white foam board to reflect some of the sun back onto the right side of his face. It did the job I suppose.

That's a great spot. Will you be sending it over? Very creative.... I was waiting for the pink piggy bank to drop as well.. lol

NICEEEEE

I'm pretty new at all this, but aren't shots 3-5 too similar in angle? I guess it's just 4 that seems odd in that sequence. Also, he never looks up to see where the money is coming from, which would be the first reaction, imho. Just felt weird that he's obviously curious about where it came from, but doesn't look in the most obvious direction.

Although it is obviously washed out, there are still nice blacks on my monitor, it that helps any.

Love the idea.

Justyn,

Is it possible to send a spec like this to the company for consideration? We just shot it for a portfolio piece but would love to try and do something more with it. Any suggestions?

I'm not really the person to ask. I'd just know to cover yourself though because for the most part you are dealing with not the company itself but the advertising company who does their work. They usually have the whole thing wrapped up...

Talk about dealing with devils too... I'd say that if they can steal your idea they WILL. Be very wary of all of them and don't trust a single one. Get a signed non disclosure agreement and or atleast something. I know that really doesn't mean much more than the paper it's written on... and they'd have the lawyers to dispute it.

Initially, I'd ask who's the advertising or marketing company that handles your work... then go from there but be cautions...

personally.. Not sure if this is a great metod to get in with a paticular company but it's great for showcasing for other clients. I'm about to do the same with my Honda Element. Don't think I'm goign to show it to Honda but there's a local outfit here that I might be doing spots for and it's representative of what I'd be doing for them...

Hope this helps.

I think that if we talk to the right people in the marketing department, they'll be interested. The idea is the let them see it without giving them a copy. Though I guess they wouldn't try to actually steal the original.

Maybe I should just stick to shooting.

Ryan,
Any chance you can do something crazy with the graphics. That'll really showcase our skillz.
