I just got my hvx 2 days ago and im shooting with a Fs100. When the Fs100 is hooked up to the camera do all your recording settings come out of the fs100. For example When i choose in camera 720p60p and on the fs100 dvcprohd is that all that needs to be done. Because under the record mode in the recording set up on the camera it says dvcpro50 and Im just making sure that is for the tape part of the camera. So im just making sure Im shooting dvcprohd
again im new to this whole set-up . Ive only ever shot on Sony's for the past 4 years so this is a little different
thanks for the help

Make sure your FS-100 is updated to the latest firmware version; it should be version 4.00.

The FS-100 automatically senses what mode the camera is in, so you shouldn't have to set the record mode on the FS-100. Choose your RECORDING SETUP mode (such as 720/60p) and the FS-100 will automatically switch itself into recording that format.

Also, if the DVCPro50 you mentioned above is in blue, it means that this setting is not applicable/available. If you are recording in either 720 or 1080, then the codec is fixed at DVCProHD and cannot be changed. The camera will display the last setting you used when it was applicable/available.

On a side note, DVCPro50 is also not available when recording to tape -- the only codec that is supported for that is DV25.

Awesome. That blue DVCpro 50 was confusing me so thanks for straightening that out. And yes i updated the fs100 to version 4.
thanks again
