HVX soon released in Australia

Eliot, just saw the brochure that comes in VIdeoguys website... No good surprises... 50P (no 60P), no 24P (25P), but no information on the resolution of 720p50- or dvcprohd 1080 PAL (which is 1440 v 1080 on paper, but don't know if there's any improvement on camera...)

Looking forward to see the results tomorrow- I don't know if I'll see a PAL or a NTSC model...

Got to give it to Panasonic Australia. They killed the dvx100 by overpricing it so everyone imported it from Asia. Now they're doing the same with the hvx200. Nearly Aust$10K in Australia. Go to Globalmediapro and it'll set you back AUst $6700. I'm tempted to fly to New Zealand to pick one up and save the 3K. I dont care if its grey import or not. Who the hell do they think we are in Australia that we have to shell out this kind of money when our fellow enthusiasts in the States pay so much less. Sure we're only 20 milliion in Australia here we're closer to Japan right? makes me mad.

There's really nothing wrong with 25p, it can easily be converted to 24p if you want to transfer to film. And if you're projecting digitally then it doesn't matter whether it's 24 or 25p.

Bit gutted about the lack of 60p though.

Same here, i've been thinking about buying a US version just for the 60fps as just about all the shooting i'll be doing will be at 60fps for slow motion.... Having those extra 10fps would be great...
