HVX snowboard footage

Love it! I only have a Sony VX2100 to shoot action sports and have been dreaming of owning some sort of HD camera. Your footage reaffirms my conviction to saving enough up to buy one.

Very Nice! How did you transfer the Super 8 footage?
I used to shoot a lot of Super 8 stuff and then just shoot it off a projector screen.
I haven't tried it yet with the HVX in HD, did you transfer the Super 8 straigh to HD?

The footage used there I had transfered using a sniper unit from moviestuff. It was standard def 4:3 and I just stretched it into my 720p timeline. I have done alot of transfers off the wall on a piece of paper using my dvx100a but have not done anything with my hvx yet.

I have a workprinter unit set to arrive in the end of june and I will be using my hvx along with that to do my s8mm transfers. Here is the transfer unit I bought.

Wow, that was sick man! I do a lot of filming skiing and snowboarding on my vx2100, but since its summer I am busting ass to save and get the HVX, so, next year... Its on! Haha, but very nice work man.:thumbup:

Yeah bro, that was sick. Loved that BS 270 on in slo mo with the golden light on the snow between his legs. . . .That was tight.

I shoot a bit of sports stuff, but have only ever shot 50i DV. I have been quite interested to find out how the progressive frame rates handle fast action, your stuff looks really good with little or no strobing at all. I second nocoast, I would love to know what you shot it in. . .

wow- that was absolutley amazing. I never knew HD could look so good. Honestly!
That really inspires me to go to one of those events and do something like that!
great camera work too. when things got tight-you focused on the foot/ board work at the rail jam
great job- inspiring- warren miller quality too

very nice looking piece but the intro seems very long before ya get to the action.. maybe as a large piece it wouldn't feel so long...if it's intended to be like a feature, nice though ... really nice

Awsome footage man. Can't wait to go boarding in a months time. One of those guys axed himself on the top of the half pipe!
