HVX Shooting in Italy

Hello All:

I'm going to be shooting a video in Italy shortly and was wondering if anyone had insights to share about working there. I'll be bringing my 200, an Apple G4 with FCP on it, and two 500GB hard drives. I've done quite a bit with this gear here in the US so I hope to set up and go.

All lodging and meals, etc. are being handled by the customer so mostly I'm looking for technical "watch outs", if you know what I mean. Also, the end product is going to be run as WMV files for distribution so I'm not so concerned about NTSC and PAL issues, though I'll be shooting in NTSC 720P/30PN. We won't be using a production monitor but I would like to do a rough post on site with a second computer monitor attached to the laptop.

Below are a few topics of interest to me:

- Is all I need for power conversion a good convertor that I can buy here?
- Does a VGA monitor there use the same connectors and signals as a VGA monitor here so I can plug in directly?
- They are already looking for gear there but they aren't video pros so does anyone know of a video rental outlet for lights, tripod, etc. in the Milan or Parma area?
- Anyone care to recommend a video pro in that same area in case we really get in a jam and need someone that understands the biz and, with any luck, English?
- Anything else I should know?

Thanks in advance for any info you can give. Much appreciated.

Ciao!

don't forget that you are going to a 50hz country, set the shutter of the camera in a speed multiply of 1/50, or you will see lots of flicker on many lights (neons, fluo tubes...)
