HVX service/tune-up

We've had our HVX just about since they first came out.

Thinking it might be time for a "check-up" and cleaning. Might even get the firewire port fixed - been inop for quite some time.

Wondering if there are reliable service options other than through Panasonic - or if all the shops simply send it to Panny?

Also, wondering if there have been any software updates we should be aware of.

Check out Spec-Comm. They are a DVXUser sponsor and they are great people to work with. I haven't had anything serviced through them yet but I have rented from them several times. Here is their profile for DVXUser. You might find someone closer since they are on the east coast, but I know they will take good care of your camera.
