HVX scene file editor program

What would be fantastic (I'm writing here as a Mac user who would also love a native app like that), would be the ability to have a sample file (we have a Marcie in post-production for calibration purposes) where you could see the changes. This would obviously require the implementation of LUT's though, and I couldn't see this happening untill a version 2.

You're right. That's a LOT of work, but if someone is willing to do it for free and send me the files then I'd be happy to implement it into the editor...

Mockup

Mockup

Hey,

Say hello to Scenefile buddy for Os X 10.4.6 or later:

SceneFileBuddy01.jpg

I've just made a mock-up of how a scenefile editor could look like. Just an example. Writing an Os X app that makes scenefiles should be easy, even for me. But it would be a lot cooler if it the application also had algorithms for showing a preview. CoreImage should easily do this, but I dont know how to write with it.

Make an Os X app for this, please!

Maybe you guys can ad a frame rate option in there as well, especially for all those not supported frame rates. If the program could than just spit it all out to an SD card, that would be need.

proximity, that's a thing of beauty...

If you added frame rates as HVX2006 said, and also 6 tabs for each of the scene files in one set, spitting out to a scene file then it would be perfect.

Hi.

I have the following observations:

1) Scenefile buddy looks beautiful. However, I was wondering if a dropbox that contains all possible values for each field would be acceptable? Especially when it comes to the Gamma Type selector where the values are not numbers but actually names? What do you guys think?

2) The preview picture is something awesome if it is possible. I have no idea how to make the Preview picture work. I thought that in order to get an accurate preview, these values must pass through the electronics of the HVX. I do not even know how to even add more details to a picture or change the picture when Gamma D is selected. Is that what we are talking about?

3) Adding selector for the 6 scenes in the file would be no problem.

4) The Frame Rate. If it is possible, it can be done. However, I thought that the frame rate is not part of the scene file. If this is the case, then it is stored in different file with different format. If this is the case, I need examples of such file. In fact, Anything that can be edited and stored in the SD as a file can be edited. Just let me know how to get my hands on the file for it.

Thanks.

It will be a free download for all existing P2 Genie (Windows) customers and all DVXUser.com members. You will be able to save "collections" of up to 4 scene files and I'm aiming for the application to allow uploading to the camera too. More about that later...

Hey you guys (tlorenzo, proximity)rock for jumping on this project!

If the simulated frame grab is to complex (I bet it is) to visually represent, a brief comment on what the settings do would be very user friendly. Detail Coring, V detail, are cryptic to me and some of them interact as Barry's book discusses. Just a text comment would do it.

It seems like I'm not the only one who wanted this! :dankk2:

Very, very exciting stuff guys. As a P2 Genie Lover I have every confidence in Tony's ability to make this a great app.

Great work. Seems to me that Panasonic should be reading this usergroup and helping and supporting people like Tony. I certainly do, and I thank you Tony for all your hard work.
:)

Great stuff here. Thanks very much for taking the time to do this. Why didn't Panny think of that? :) Great idea, easy user interface, not too hard (well for me, impossible. But in the grand scheme of things).

Thanks very much
Jason

Thanks for creating the app- know of anyone who might port it so that us Mac users could take avantage of it????

This is excellent stuff. It is a real pain to open up a text file and phaff about with it like we have to at the moment.

I am both a PC and Mac user so will be happy to have both.

So do we have a race? Who is going to get theirs out first?

It's not a contest guys. I just stepped up to the challenge and I think this application would suit the "Genie" software solution perfectly. This community has given me a lot of knowledge over the course of the last year so I figure giving something back to the community would be a nice 1-year anniversary for me :)

I'm aiming for november 1st - possibly an early beta in the middle of next week.
