Late afternoon shoot this Sunday

Thinking of getting these 2 items:

Kata DVG-51 Camcorder Guard:
http://www.bhphotovideo.com/bnh/controller/home?O=productlist&A=details&Q=&sku=475199&is=REG

Vs.
B+W 82mm UV Haze 010
http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/11995-REG/B_W_66045076_82mm_UV_Haze_010.html

Figured I'd skip the B+W glass (since I will get the late evening
sun). The sand on the beach could pose issues with the HVX so
I felt the glove would be a better necessity.

Guys help me decided going to B&H tomorrow.

thank you sir... I was just making the comparison to a phone, usually we protect the phone before we protect the screen, but in this case the lens is really what gives one the imagery so thank you.

Hey dante,

I think in this case both are just as important. Repair costs can get pretty high when the lens needs to be taken apart and re-lubricated when sand and dirt gets into the rings. The DVG-51 will keep this from happening. Likewise sand blowing around in wind is very bad for the lens. The moment you get those microscopic pits in the thin-film on the lens you're done. I would get both.
