Hvx Problem???

DarkMatter

I just got my HVX. When i pulled it out of the packaging, I tipped it back and forth and noticed a sound like there's something moving back and forth inside. it doesn't sound like it some piece is broken, it just sounds like something is not bolted down. Is this normal? Having never had a panasonic camera before I'm not sure what to expect.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

If you can´t find anything about it in your manual it must be a bomb

I noticed that on mine, too. And when I looked through the viewfinder, it was totally dark.

But when I powered the camera "on", I could see through the viewfinder and the rattling noise went away...

Seriously, the noise you're hearing is normal. Has to do with the OIS system. When you power the camera up, the servo or whatever controls that bit of equipment stops it from sliding around. This has been mentioned elsewhere, too.

Thanks, I must have missed that one and the battery is still charging, so i haven't turned it on yet. I have never had another camera that made a noise like that before. That's reassuring, thanks again.
