HVX + P+S Technik lighting package

Hi everyone,

I guess I'm looking at about <100ISO for the HVX with the P+S Technik. The show doesn't have much money, so they want me to stick to the $60 Nikon lenses instead of the $280 Ziess superspeeds that I want.

They're a 2.8 24mm, 2.0 30mm, 1.4 50mm, 2.5 105mm . 50mm seems about right for most of the show, especially since it's the fastest.

I just found out the package they can afford doesn't include HMIs, so I'll dealing with some tungsten 2ks, 1ks, 650s and below and a 4 foot 4 bank kino.

My thinking is that the package is too meager to deal with the slow speed of the camera for int. night apartment type scenes.

What do you think? I'm hosed without HMIs, aren't I?

well, you'll know when you've got your first scene set up. Be sure to have your clients there ons-et to see what they're buying with their meager lighting funds. If they're savvy enough to go for the 'video-that-looks-like-film' acquisition, they've got to know they can't cut corners and push the outcome straight back into the 'looks-like-poorly-lit-video' arena.

Well, depending on how much "some" is, this sounds like a nice setup, altough you maybe sometimes will have to go wider than the 50mm indoors and thus use a slower lens...
The main problem will be using all this tungsten simultaniously without breaking a fuse...
I´d also think about raising the basic illumination level with china balls and rather adjust the nighttime look in post...
