HVX overheating/capture issue?

Hey Everyone,
I just took my HVX out of its bag after a week and found the switch on and the battery still in, which means that the camera sat there for hours running hot until the battery died. Not good.

I tested everything out and all seems ok. However, when I capture a clip in FCP using Log and Transfer, the captured clip is slightly shorter than the clip on the P2 card. It seems to be cutting off the tail end of the P2 content. Even with the In and Out points deleted this happens, and the little Media Map circle at the left of the Log and Transfer window shows up half-filled in (see pic).

Could this be related to the camera being left on? So far (knock on wood) there are no other signs of problems with the camera.

Thanks.
Andrew

I just tried capturing old P2 files, and they capture completely, so it seems to be newly shot footage that has this problem.

What's weird is that the content seems to be on the P2 card, but the captured clip is a little bit shorter. Very weird.

This happens when capturing directly from camera or after copying the P2 contents over.

Dude always remove the battery not just because of this but also because the pins in the battery lount on the camera can bend or crack off which some people had issues like this.
