HVX not focusing on ground glass of adapter, help!!

Didn't know where else to put this:

Ok Just got my redrock, I have a shoot tomorrow.
I put it all together, zoom in all the way to focus on the ground glass and I can't. It gets to like MF24 and it can't focus that close when it is zoomed in. I have configured redrocks on other people's cameras just fine but for some reason my camera will not focus. So I have to zoom out a bit and then it focuses on the glass around MF22, but I feel like that isn't right(on other people's cameras I could have sworn the focus was at something like 88, maybe that was zoom). I also feel like the focus changes slightly when I zoom in or zoom out the tiniest bit, so I don't feel like it is accurate.

Is there some setting I have wrong on my HVX? Has anyone else experienced this?

Please help!

I had a similar problem the other month... I zoomed in as much as I could and then focused but I still had edges of the ground glass in shot.. so when I tried to zoom in more it wouldn't focus. Turns out I didn't get my macro lens shipped to me. Had to wait a few more weeks to finally get that and put the whole rig back together and it works fine. Took some test shots today which look alright.. just have to tweak a few things on the rig to make the focus pulls look smooth and not so shaky...

So maybe it's the macro lens? What is the configuration of your set up? How have you put it all together? The more info the more we can possibly help.

My zoom settings I shot today were zoom at 80 and focus at 10.

Just make sure the iris is open, zoom out a little at a time until you have enough macro to focus on the screen, and once you can focus it close the iris a little, and then you'll be gold.

Also depending on the look you want you can zoom out even more....the more you are zoomed out, the more light falloff you'll have in the frame.
