HVX newbie

Hello all,
So I traded my DVX100 in for an HVX200 with firestore.
I´ve done a few testshots, and everything works fine.
I am getting a baptism by fire (isn´t that always the case?) as I have my first real shoot with it abroad next week.
So I want to be as prepared as possible.

Ideally I want to shoot 1080p, but from what I read on various forums it seems that focus is a concern. I do not have the option to bring a field monitor.

I am wondering if I should shoot in DVCPRO50 to be safe, although I wold like to shoot HD.
Any tips, tricks, advice are appreciated.

You could always use the Detail feature to sharpen up your LCD and EVF and then use the Focus Assist button to confirm that your focus is set properly.

Hope that helps.

Yes. Good thread to reference (if it's the one I think it is). The key is practice and looking at your practice on an HD monitor afterwards. Once can pretty quickly get the hang of when it is sharp.

This baptismal rite may be a "soft" baptism in many places, though.
