[ryanschindler]

and also i shoot alot of skating/snowboarding and i've been looking at the EX1 as well. which do you think would be better for my situation? i just sold my DVX with all my lenses and w hat not and i have around 3000

An HVX should last pretty much forever. There's no moving parts (other than the lens, of course).

I doubt you'll find an EX1 for anywhere near your price bracket.

I think you mean the HPX has no moving parts. Doesn't the HVX have a tape transport system?

Doesn't the HVX have a tape transport system?

it does, but if you dont plan to use it. its more or less a non-issue

DOH! I guess I've been tapeless too long; it didn't even occur to me about the DV side of things! hah!

[TimurCivan]

Dv? What's that?

Dv? What's that?

It's the little place on the side of your camera where you sneak your whiskey into the games... The pro cameras have a larger hiding spot, thus they command a premium.

You'll go far.

I got an hvx and everytime I goto shoot snowboarding or skating it'S a little of a hassle to carry around that big camera I'd say go with an hpx or the 200a idk or maybe it's just me wanting to snowboard instead of film ohh n when ur camera cost 3000 u think twice about follow cams
