HVX-LEX Setup

It kinda makes since to me to mount "up" you have more weight with the camera, monitor, and batteries than with the lens, LEX, and mattebox

It does seem to balance well - I like the slightly higher angle of view that this setup gives me.

You mentioned you have a 20mm Nikon - do you see much vignetting with the LEX?

With both the 20mm and 28mm lenses, I zoom the HVX lens to 25mm to eliminate any vignetting. For the 35-85mm lenses I zoom to 20 or 22mm with the HVX lens.

No.. unfortunately I haven't... I don't own a flip adapter yet.

However, think about things this way... what weights more... your camera or your adapter + lens? I'd rather know my camera is as safe as possible than my adapter. It also seems to depend on your style of filming. If you're using a skater dolly and doing low angles, this might be quite absurd to configure your LEX like this. Just look at what Edi5 does with his dolly.
