HVX latitude/dynamic range

Can anyone tell me what the dynamic range for a given aperture the HVX 200 has?

For instance, say the camera is set at F4 how many stops either side of that can the camera resolve? Is the range the same across all apertures? How does this compare to the immediate competition? How does it compare to the 170 and the 300?

Thanks

Dean

In general the HVX can resolve around 8 stops; the 170 and 300 can handle IIRC over 9. I don't remember what I tested them at offhand, but I think the 300 was 9.5.

As far as over/under -- actually I don't know that I've ever bothered to test that! Surprising. Well, typically on video you have much more underexposure room than overexposure. A wild guess based on nothing but complete speculation would say that you could expect maybe 2.5 stops over and 5.5 under.
