HVX, Jan, and DV Expo

I just got back from DV Expo East.

Jan, your presentation on the HVX was awesome! You answered all my questions.

I can't wait to get that camera.

Thanks,

Chris

Haven't seen Jan around here in a while, she must be real busy, and I can only interpreet that to be a good thing.

I think most of it has been covered.

The presentation though, was pretty in depth, covered a lot of details and she answered everyone's questions.

A few things I saw and heard (which are probably common knowledge - but just didn't register before) were:

- Focus Assist - very cool the way they are handling this in the view screen
- The View Screen folds 180 degrees
- P2 Cards are hot swappable
- Data will automatically start on one card and then roll over to the second.
- Zoom, Focus, and Iris are all remote controllable
- Claimed that the LCD would show the over/under scan

I am forgetting a lot. All I know is I will be buying this camera on day one.

How about Jan's statement that we can record DVCPRO HD via Firewire (with the appropriate software, NLE that supports DVCPRO HD Capture) without the use of P2 cards. Was I the only one who thought this made the camera all the more desirable?

Hi,

Yes I have been really swamped. Nice to hear that the presentation covered most of the questions. I too think this little camera is going to be hot! Hot! HOT!

Hopefully my schedule will relax a little and I will be able to show up a bit more often.

Best,

Jan

can the user control where the focus assist goes on the display screen.. which corner?

can the user control what part of the image the focus assist uses.. so if you want an off center focus..

Please tell me we can set 2 different focus points and use 2 buttons to rack between them???

If you are using an external monitor, can you see the focus assist on it?

That would be really useful since it has remote focusing ability, just have someone moving the camera and another person tethered to it to run focus.

Did anyone tape the session that could be posted to a website???

Thanks
Ben
