Hvx iso

I have an HVX200a, and have been using it for a while. I love it!

But I always read that the HVX200 was rated 320 ISO, and the HVX200a was rated 500 ISO. When I put my meter to the test, it seemed way off.

When comparing a correctly exposed image and a light meter reading from a Sekonic 608c meter, it ended up being about 50 ISO. With a Letus Extreme, it seemed be more like 32 or 25 ISO. Has anyone else put the HVX to the ISO test?

It all depends on the gamma and scene file settings you use. I think barry always said he tested at HD Norma gamma with no knee. For example I get ISO 640 out of mine with a redrock adaptor and cinescreen 2 with standard Scene file 4 as the setting.

Depends on what your iris is set at, as to how the camera will claim what its sensitivity is, but in general I'd rate a 200A at 500 ISO with no adapter on.

When I set it to:

-Cine V preset
-Camera iris wide open
-Letus Extreme on
-Nikon Lens at f1.4
-Correctly exposed image
-Light meter set to 24fps, 180 degree shutter

I had to dial my meter down to 25 ISO to get a f1.4

Isn't HD norm only a half stop more sensitive than Cine V? Or is it more?
