I just got back from a shoot only to find to my amazement most of my wide shots where out of focus.
I was shooting wide shots of Beijing from a distance and used the infinity switch for focus. This worked fine before since everything was well over 3000 yards away. But now everything is completely soft? Its almost like a back focus problem on a larger lens?
Just to clarify. If I am shooting a far off subject (over 3000 yards) completely wide (no zoom) with wide open aperture and I use the infinity switch on the side of the camera to set lens to infinity but yet everything is soft??
Obviously looks okay in viewfinder with peaking on but on a monitor its obviously soft?
Tight zoom shots that where manually focused are great.
Yes I know I should have checked more carefully but I never had this problem before? Really feels like a back focus problem?
