HVX in use at ABC?

[The Machinist]

I may be mistaken but last night when watching the Rose Bowl on ABC HD, I caught a glimpse from the sideline of someone using a panasonic camera. The glimpse was so quick though I was unsure of whether it was a DVX or an HVX as it was from the viewpoint of one camera looking into the lens of the mystery cam. (they were on opposite sides of i belive it was Vince Young in the 4th quarter) It seemed perhaps a bit too small for an HVX, however I thought i detected the curvature of the HVX viewfinder sticking out the back. This is just speculation as I can't say for sure what i saw but would be pretty cool if it was an HVX in use on a national broadcast station during a live event.

Considering how few even exist at this point, I doubt it was an HVX you saw.

If it was the same person I saw, it was a DVX. The giveaway to me was that I could see through the back of the lenshade. The DVX has an open back lenshade whereas the HVX is closed (based on pictures I've seen). Judging by the young face behind the camera, I'm thinking that it was probably someone connected with the school rather than ABC.

I saw that too. It definitely was a DVX. The guy had the LCD screen flipped out and it was grey not black like the HVX.

Thanks for the clarification guys. Maybe next year.

And that was a great game. Vince Young was super-human.
