Received the HVX & Firestore 5 days ago, shot as many tests as possible, specifically shooting 720 DVCPRO HD/24p and 60p . Pulled the fs-100 footage into Quad G5 via firewire under Panasonic P2 import (FCP 5.1.1).
Today was first shoot for client DVD, mostly sunny clear day. Shooting industrial equipment in use on various job sites.
Add me to the list of users here who don't think much of the HVX's viewfinder! In the sun it's barely useable, it sucks. So yep, looking forward to spending another grand on a Marshall...
The Firestore worked very well, had it mounted using it's accompanying Manfrotto hotshoe bracket. Only thing I read about here in the past couple months is the start-up time - definitely not made for run & gun. On average start-up the past 20 times with the Firestore take approx. 15 secs. Will also be purchasing an additional 180 minute Firestore battery and another for HVX.
Bottom line regarding the HVX200 video quality at 720/24/60? Stunning. Absolutely beautiful. You can aim this thing at a meatloaf and it looks incredible.
Next will be the Evolution G2 wireless mic system, ME66 shotgun and PortBrace bag arriving later this week....
