Hey SPZ,

this was a great review on the hvx..couldnt have done better!
I loved the story with the clip for the press-show!
I can imagine why you dont wanna do it again under such a pressure, imagine there would have been just 1 problem, with the laptop for example, horrible.

Where are you from in Pal-territory?

HVX Germanboy, I'm in Macau, China- Not quite the most well known place, is it :) ? And you're right on the money: if something failed, i was completely screwed. That's why I really love my powerbook :) . Old generation machine, but bullet proof. The lacie 500gb Big Disk also performed flawlessly, by the way... And P2 really worked in that situation- I can't see any other workflow capable of surviving that type of time pressure- maybe XDCAM-HD?

Hi again.
Just a quick post to say thanks for all the replies, and I am keeping in touch in spite of not being at work and having to use the local cybercafe. Wireless bband is next on my to-do list!.

Any ideas when Cineporter will be available in UK? I've been checking out a few pro video suplier's web sites but no mention yet. My guess is that the basic model will come in at ca £2k, which would give a combined price of £6k, which I may just be able to go to.

The problems of working with 720/25p or 720/50p footage in the PC/Avid world still remain, and I really don't want to budget for another NLE if I can put the money to better use.

Untill Avid supports 720p in PAL, I could still shoot DVCPro 50 or 1080i HD.

Regards to all,
Dave
