I just like to second the other comments here concerning Pana Europe..
These execs are just a bunch of idiots. On one hand they are complaining about low sales for DVX100A while setting the price in the range $3700 (UK) - $6000 (Central Europe) on the other. I can understand there might be a reason for the premium in pricing of the PAL version but certainly not 100%!!! God bless the EU single market so we are not dependent on country based official distributor gangsters anymore, so I went shoping to the UK..
Well, the prices, you have to pay for Panasonic Pro Products here in Europe, are really very questionable to me, too. And my opinion is: If you can get the AG-HVX200 in America for 5,500 Dollars, so you should get it in Europe for under 6,000 Euros. We will see.

They've made their statement. They've said that it hasn't been announced yet.

Robert, I'm not saying you're a rumor-monger, but I am saying that whoever you heard it from, it's not authoritative. Marc Irwin is the boss of all things marketing-related for Panasonic Broadcast Europe. He's the one who sets the policy. He's the one who lays out the pricing and the bundling. And he says that it hasn't been announced yet. So if some employee, or some lower-level representative or whoever went out making statements, all I can say is they were not authorized to do so and do not and cannot speak for Panasonic Broadcast. The boss says "no, we're not committed to offering just the camera only. What we will offer has not been announced yet." Why would that not be good enough?
If it's good enough for you, you are in your own right to believe in all statements that you want! But there is who don't! (period)

As Robert already said, let's smoke the pipe of peace. :)

BUT please, guys, not for indifference! Don't be passive with the industry or... (and this is not to be radical that they label us) It's only the real meaning of the wor(l)d "I N D Y" (without period)

It's necessary read wisely UNDER (ALL OF) THE WORDS and there AREN'T UNQUESTIONABLES. There are a lot of tones of grey and millions of colors and no one is unsuspected. Because one of us has his/her own interest. The question is to identify THIS or THAT interest. Sometimes is indirectly/sideways and not so clear as sometimes it's supposed to be or I can read in these foruns. Please, don't be so naive. There is an industry and a market of millions of dollars or euros to collect.

Or it's possible to occur the same that happened to the west democracies during the Nazi period (Barry, please, don't misunderstand my words).

Barry, you know that I'm one of your most enthusiastic fans and of your work HERE (I'm waiting for your HVX book that I'd buy before or I'll buy when available and I'll recommend to every europeans, portuguese, spanish and italian - film markets where I work - that I know) but I don't say this or that for such reciprocity, as I think that you already have noted crossing my thoughts express in THESE posts.

Exactly. People are getting stirred up and angry, Emanuel's using words like "slavery" and an "attack" on our pocketbook, etc.

Emanuel, I would ask you to tone down your language. Nobody has launched an "attack" against your wallet. You always have the option of just not buying it. And words like "slavery" are rarely productive to a civil discussion.
Barry, you don't know me besides my written posts where I express those thoughts or you didn't never associate my name to anger or something similar.

We are not children and when I or you or any member of this forum came to the light, this world already existed since a long, long time ago... Neither of us invented it. About slavery, this is not only a problem of the past or of the America, as your well known and succeed movies show (to) us. And there are a sort (A LOT) contemporary (masked) slavery that perhaps an european sensibility may better understand. I'm sorry if I'm not capable to be clear enough. You know as we all, the meaning of the metaphor exactly in the context of THIS civil discussion. Yes indeed, typical of a civilized context and superior concern.

Robert, don't forget: + VAT
Yes, we will see...and we (europeans) will feel unless: 24p/60i

If I remember correctly, the JVC GY-HD100U was announced with a suggested list price of $6,295. A press release from JVC UK stated under 6,000€ for the HD100E. At present the list price here in Germany is 5,495€ (and 5,995€ for the HD101E). So regarding to the suggested list price of the Panasonic AG-HVX200: Under 6,000$ should mean articulately under 6,000€.
