Hvx, hpx, hdx

What's the reasoning behind Panasonic using a "V", "D", or a "P" as the second letter of the model name?

I was trying to come up with a methodology, like the HPX cameras are P2-only, and HVX cameras have a video tape option, but I couldn't fit the HDX into a category.

Anyone know?

Aren't they all digital, tape or no tape? If so, why wouldn't the HDX-900 be called the HVX-900? "V" could also be for VeriCam....

Sounds like Sesame Street.
