HVX HD to 35mm

Been doing some tests for the director and have had some trouble. What are the ideal settings for shooting and editing to get the best results for a 35mm blowup?

I am wondering the same thing as I am considering an HPX170. I don't expect them to be exactly the same, but the principle should be. I believe that this subject was touched on in the DV Rebel's Guide. I'm not too sure though. Anyone care to help out?

I'm pretty sure there are a ton of articles and threads on the subject. From what I remember reading Cine-V setting on the camera is for transfer to 35mm film. Its the Scene File 5 preset.

Certain things you want to consider like sharpness because their is a bit of sharpness lost in the 35mm transfer. Depends on the look your going for. Some also suggest you injest your footage using some alternate method like the AJA card to a 2k file. Don't know how to do it just heard it works.

This is really something you should discuss with your lab. They will be able to tell you what settings to use, what ones not to use and how to set things up properly for film out. If you don't have a lab yet, then shop around for one first. Once you've found one you like, you can work with them to get what you need.
