He's so smart, sometimes I want to ask him questions about things that have nothing to do with cameras....investment advice, girlfriend troubles, if he could interpret for me Albert Einsteins 1905 article "On The Electrodynamics of Moving Bodies". just to name a few.

What you all don't know is Barry Green actually had all of this knowledge in his head before these cameras were made. He called Panasonic one day and said: "Hey Panasonic, make one of these." They said: "How do we do that?" He responded with a yawn: "okay, get a pen and paper..."

Yeah. Superman wears Barry Green Underoos. :)

He'd be more than a little uncomfortable with all this hero worship, so I'd tone it down . . .

The remarkable thing about Barry is that he is able to be so insanely knowledgeable and a down-to-Earth, genuinely nice person.

I've met so many people in this industry who feel like they have to prove how smart they are and put you down for not knowing as much.

Yeah - it is refreshing to see someone who doesn't feel the need to prove how smart he is before he puts you down for not knowing much.
:)

(just kidding - obviously)

No doubt Barry knows his stuff, and is also a super nice, friendly, and helpful guy, but am I the only one who didn't get much out of either the DVX Book or the HVX Book?

Not that they don't contain valuable information, but as a lowly self-taught videographer/cinematographer, I was stunned that it contained absolutely no new or exclusive information.

Maybe this isn't the right place for this comment, and I mean no disrespect (in fact, I give all respect to Barry), but we all have the capacity to be experts just like Barry is. Of course, becoming a skilled videographer takes years of experience, but learning the information and becoming hyper-knowledgeable can take no time at all if you put your mind to it...

That must be because you got the grey market DVX book by Berry Green, not the official DVX book by Barry Green.
