Just a quick testimonial:
My FS-100 is a piece of ****.
Honestly. It has been a pain in the ass more or less since day two. There have been times where if I had to pick between acquiring in HD, and just simply sketching things out with pen and paper, the paper would've been a more reliable, and comprehensive solution. Dealing with FOCUS has been less than ideal, if only because the tech support position is always one of "The user is an idiot." I ran through a gazillion different steps (reformat, rewrite, check this diagnostic mode, reinstall the firmware, check your camera settings), meanwhile my FS's record capability continued to drop. It started at about 20 minutes, now I can record about 10 minutes of 720 before it stops, altogether. Finally Focus said "Well, send it to us, in about 10 days, we'll send you another one."
Sadly, I don't have another HD destination, (broke, broke, broke), and can't afford to just be without the ability to record for "about" 10 days.
Enter EVS & Tommy Mack.
I called EVS, and told Tommy my situation, and he is sending me a FS-100 from their rental pool, for as long as I need, so that I can then send Focus their POS-100.
If you're ever buying anything, I suggest you call EVS, ask for tommy. I don't care if you're looking for an HVX, a DVX, or just baby food. I'm sure the gerber's is better over there.
