Lost too much VITAL footage from an VITAL interview on P2 cards. Selling camera.

Case, gradient polariser filter, 2x zoom lens, 2 4Gig cards, Barry's book and DVD, all ready to go. Make offer....

I'm very sorry to read this. I'm new to DVX User, and I'm pretty new to the HVX200 camera, but I have been shooting for a good number of years. If it helps a little, I can't think of a single soundman or fellow cameraman that I know that hasn't, at one time or another, had a problem like yours - me included.

The only times I have ever witnessed something "real important" is in surgery. I kept thinking, if I mess up, I have to re-shoot, but if these guys make a major mistake, someone dies. From time to time, I think about that - it helps keep things in perspective.

Sounds like there might be a problem with your HVX. You might consider sending it in for a check under warranty before selling it here in the DVXUser marketplace.

Sent it to someone who got half the clips to work. Half are just corrupt. On the FS-100, I can see that happening, although under rare conditions. I'd have sent it in for repair, but the back ups we did on P2 cards were corrupt, too.

Last person of a tribe, the history in her head will die with her soon, this was my one and only shot at this interview, for anyone to get these stories. It has severely shaken my trust of P2 and tapeless acquisition for very important footage.

As soon as I can come up with another, more stable, reliable solution for my documentary, I'll be picking up the pieces of this major production explosion.

Super disappointed. Local Panny service center finds nothing wrong with the cam. Very disappointed. Not to mention the huge battles we're having with noise, even in day light shots. I hit a brick wall, I'm desperately searching for HD solutions, may have to go back to the DVX. At least it was reliable and didn't have the major noise problems to fight with. Not sure, weighing options. Just super disappointed, very devastated emotionally and my documentary has taken a HUGE hit.

What causes so much noise even in day light shots? I'm baffled. May break down and to HDV. Who knows, but losing such valuable footage, well, I'm really wanting to go back to tape. At least it's more reliable.
