Hvx footage streaming

I originally posted this in the compression section but noone helped me or responded. I am wanting to stream my .mov files off my website but when I upload them and go to the page, the quicktime icon stays there until the whole thing loads. The ile is 87 MB so I want it to stream. Someone please help me with how to stream these files. As a side note I dont have quicktime pro but when I export my .mov out of premiere I check the box that says optimize for streaming on the web. All help is greatly appreciated.

ok, lets sort out some basic facts first. unless you have deep pockets or manage your own web server - youre not gonna actually be "streaming". what you'll be doing is called a progressive download. which means that the movie (if encoded properly) will begin playing as soon as enough has downloaded that the playback shouldnt exceed the download bandwidth - THUS, the "illusion" of streaming.

and im not certain how to do this on the broader scale, but i do mine in FCP and when i do the "export using quictime conversion" there is a checkbox in the main settings that says prepare or internet streaming, or fast start or something like that.

check that box and all will be fine.

It could also be the playback setting in Quicktime. Open up quicktime, go to Quicktime Preferences, click the streaming tab, and see if Instant On is enabled.
